Green Future Scholarship

TU Wien and Energiepark Bruck/Leitha support individuals and their careers in the renewable energy sector. Therefore, we offer a scholarship for this MSc program addressed to people with a green mindset and future-oriented thinking who are eager to change their current career path and gain ground in the field of renewable energies.

During the application process, applicants have to submit an essay on their motivational factors, fields of interests concerning questions of sustainability and their thoughts and beliefs in relation to a green future. Applicants will have to provide information on their past and current professional experience and state, why they are interested in this change of their career path.

The scholarship in the amount of EUR 10,000 will be awarded by a jury. The participation of the scholarship holder is EUR 9,500 plus travel expenses and cost of room and board.

Eligibility Criteria

  • First academic degree
  • A minimum of two years professional experience
  • Prior career is not within the renewable energy field and candidate gives a clear view on career change goals

  • Statement of purpose answering the following questions:
  1. What makes you interested in the program and what are your expectations?
  2. What can you contribute to the program?
  3. How do you plan to fit the schedule of the blocked lectures into your professional and private life?
  4. How do you manage the financing of the reduced tuition fee (9,500 EUR) and the travel and accommodation costs?
  5. How did you find out about the MSc Renewable Energy Systems?
  • Essay (500 words max):
  1. What is your motivation to change your career and settle in the field of renewable energies?
  2. What are your short to middle-term (1-3 years) goals and plans regarding the development of your professional career?
  3. What makes you the right candidate for this scholarship? 
  • Certificates of previous degrees
  • Proof of working experience
  • Copy of passport & one passport foto

After reviewing the application document, applicants will be informed about further steps. The decision about the award of the scholarship will be made after a personal interview in front of a jury. Any recourse of law is excluded.
