Scholarships for Climate Protection and Sustainability

The impending exit of coal and nuclear energy and the fulfillment of the Paris Agreement force us to rely more and more on sustainable energy sources in the future. As a result the global energy sector is increasingly looking for highly qualified personnel. The TU Wien and the Energiepark Bruck / Leitha for the first time have awarded three Sustainability Scholarships worth EUR 10,000 each for the participation in their MSc program Renewable Energy Systems.

Since 2005, the Continuing Education Center of TU Wien has been offering education at the highest academic level with its postgraduate master's program. In co-operation with the competence partner Energiepark Bruck / Leitha a compact, comprehensive and, above all, practical oriented course is being conducted on the key renewable energy sources (solar, wind, geothermal, hydropower, bioenergy). Highlights include excursions and country modules to selected energy producers and projects in Europe, where participants get to know the peculiarities of technologies and markets.

The participants of the international accredited program (ASIIN) acquire technical, legal and economic knowledge at an international level, especially for the renewable energy sector. These skills enable students to assess future developments in renewable energy technologies, design projects, and provide decision-making expertise to operate plants economically and technically. With more than 280 students and alumni from more than 49 nations, the participants of the part-time program form a worldwide unique network.

Funding will be available to women and young families (parents) who want boost their career and people who are eager to change their current career paths to a future in the renewables sector. After the application process and a personal hearing, a jury will decide on the award of the partial scholarships.
