Cuba: Booming of Renewable Energy

Prof. Deny Oliva Merencio, director of the Centro de Estudio de Tecnologícas Energéticas Renovables (CETER) at the Technical University of Havana, is one of the renowned experts for wind energy in Cuba. He is responsible for the booming of renewable energies in Cuba in recent years. His work on alternative energy concepts is very fruitful, e.g. in February Cuba’s wind park with six wind turbines was inaugurated on Isla de la Juventud. A second wind park near Holguín, in the east of Cuba, is under construction.

The Continuing Education Center is pleased to present Prof. Merencio as keynote speaker at the „Renewable Energy Talk“at the Vienna University of Technology.
