Doc. Ing. Jaroslav Knapek

Mr. Knapek graduated at Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Electrical  Engineering (1985) with a specialization in Economy and Management of Power Systems.

In 1993, he gained his Ph.D. (CSc. degree) in Czech Technical University in Prague. In 1989-1991 he worked as the research worker at Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, Institute of General Energy Economy with specialization on system aspects of energy systems development.

Since 1991 he became the member of Department of Economics, Management and Humanities, in Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Electrical Engineering. In 2003 he got docent (associate professor) degree. Since 2006 (till now) he is head of the department of Economics, Management and Humanities of the Czech Technical University, Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

His entire professional carrier is dedicated to the area of economy and management of power engineering. Last twelve years he is specialized on the system and economics aspects of renewable energy sources utilization. He is member of joint Czech–Austrian Energy Expert Group nominated by the Government, he also worked among others in expert groups of Ministry of Environment (Economics Instruments, 2006-2007), Ministry of Agriculture (Economics of biomass production and utilization for energy purposes, 2011-12).

He participated on several studies done for Energy Regulatory Office mainly focused on the support of renewable energy sources. He participated in app. 30 research studies carried out during last 8 years for Czech Ministries and other public bodies and for companies from energy branch. He is author and co-author of 80 articles in scientific journals and papers in conference proceedings during last 8 years.
